Feb. 12 2015 – Kaylyn R.

Hey North House! Hope you guys made it through four core rotation today!

Today in class Mrs. Edwards skipped through SSR and went straight to viewing Romeo + Juliet, but first she gave us a lecture on our future project of an adaptation on the Shakespearian tragedy, MacBeth. In the project we will have groups ranging from 10 to 11 people. All groups must take the essential question “How can we make Shakespeare relevant to a modern audience?” into consideration while making the adaptation. However, this is not “Frankenstein 2.0” as Mrs. Edwards phrased it, the project can range from a film to even a phone app; she encourages any appropriate ideas that will provoke a reaction (laughter, shock, or any emotion).

For resources we obviously have the Romeo + Juliet adaptation film, but Mrs. Edwards shared the Budweiser Superbowl Commercial in class with a director’s analysis commentary video.

You can find the commercial on this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQB7QRyF4p4&spfreload=10

After her announcements we resumed watching Romeo + Juliet.

Enjoy the rest of your stay here at iPoly High School 🙂
