Game plan:

  • SSR + Review  for quiz
  • Canterbury Tales Prologue quiz
  • Discuss reading circle stuff (North)
  • Read Pg 269 in lit. books (intro to “Gawain”)
  • Literary terms to know: Romance and alliteration
  • Begin Reading “Gawain” + study questions

So today we began with our usual routine. We had 20 minutes of SSR. You could of either read a book or study the notes for the test. After the 20 minutes we began our Canterbury Tales test. We were given 30 questions with only 20 minutes to answer them. After the test we corrected it as a class. Then we moved on to the reading circle discussion. Ms Edwards said that reading circle has been slowly fading away and that some people didn’t even finish reading all the books. So she thought it was unfair for us to still have our presentation for reading circle. But she also didn’t want to loose that month that we learned of reading strategies. So then we were asked to complete a binder and it should have a legacy (book Review year book). Your going to tell the future generations what book is the “must read book before graduating high school”. It basically should look something like this:

Title:

Author:

ISBN:

Paperback or hand back + # of pages:

Brief Summary: (his can actually be copied from Amazon.com product review as source is cited.)

Major theme(s):

If you liked: (give at least three other similar genre/ theme/ plotline books)

Favorite part and why:

Quotable quotes: (at least three)

Ms. Edwards also offered us an opportunity to do extra credit tomorrow. Tomorrow during Navoroli’s we are going to watch some Canterbury tales video and so we have to watch the film, name the name of the pilgrim and a 1 to 2 sentence summary about it.

We also didn’t have enough time to do all the game plan for today so next class we’re going to do what we didn’t finish this class.
